Welcome to Miss.Tactical

"Miss.Tactical" is all about women's self-protection and empowerment. My brand is about cultivating a mindset of strength and resilience, dedicating oneself to rigorous training and preparation, and living a lifestyle prioritizing safety and preparedness. Every woman has the right to feel safe and capable in any situation, and I work tirelessly to help them achieve that through education, training, and community support. I aim to help every woman, young girl, and mother who is a complete beginner to all self-defense options develop the skills and mindset they need to protect themselves and those they love. I want the average sweet, even a demur woman by nature, to find a part of herself that can discreetly adopt a tactical mindset. Join me on this journey towards empowerment and self-protection!

My Why...

I was inspired to create the community "Miss.Tactical" for women after making a 180 life change from being constantly scared and feeling helpless to feeling a call from God that it was time to take my safety into my own hands. Growing up in a city like LA can be tough, especially for a woman. I had many close calls with danger, which made me realize how important it is for women to learn self-defense. Especially in a city where firearms and even deserved reactions of violence were frowned upon. In 2019 I moved from Hollywood, CA, to Phoenix, Arizona, and started my dedicated journey toward self-reliance. Inspired by my fears and experiences, I decided to create a blog dedicated to women's self-defense to help as many women as possible also choose to take their safety seriously.

Ezra 10:4 Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it."

The Gear

My blog aims to provide women with a "no BS" guide to concealed carry and other self-defense options. One of the most frustrating obstacles I encountered when I first started my self-defense journey was that every  "gun bunny " and  "cool guy" had some shit product they didn't use but had a coupon code for that they wanted to push on me. Unfortunately, 9/10 people in the industry don't care about you or your safety. They want your money, especially when it comes to marketing to females. I tried everything I could get my hands on in the concealed carry world. For two years, I constantly returned and tried all the products and carry methods I could. Filtering out the good, the bad, and the ugly products so you don't have to!

The Training

Once I finally filtered through all the bad products and carry methods then, I had to deal with nightmare trainers, many of which often hide behind law enforcement or military backgrounds that, in reality, can't shoot for shit or have any understanding of the cilivian application, and often have the "rules for thee and not for my mindset." If I wasn't that stereotype, it was some tacti-cool fagot that wanted to show off and flirt with me. Please don't let me scare you off yet, haha, because the good news is that after trying 10-plus trainers, I finally found GREAT trainers who truly cared, taught me life-changing skills, and showed me what to look for in other firearms trainers that I can share with you!

A Strong Base Foundation and Mindset

I can teach you so much right here to help you build a strong base foundation so that you have the confidence to go out and find good trainers and a community to train with to test what methods work for you.

From learning shooting basics concealed carry methods to understanding how to build a defensive and self-reliant mindset. My blog covers a wide range of topics related to women's self-defense. While I don't train 1on1 much, I still hope to empower women to take control of their safety and well-being here. Join me on this journey towards a safer and more confident you!

My name is Mariah. I work in digital marketing and content creation full-time and am a freelance writer, reviewer, and photographer in the firearm industry. Occasionally, I find time to train females 1on1 and love introducing the newest girls to the range. My calm and caring personality makes many females who are scared to shoot more comfortable with having me as their first-time guide, which I love the most! I also enjoy competitive shooting USPSA and riffle matches with my husband almost weekly.

When I am not working in the firearm space, I enjoy training my service dog, gardening, cooking, and camping with my husband. I find solace in being close to nature, and I believe that spending time outdoors helps me rejuvenate and stay focused on my goals.
