Staging firearms in your home

It's the middle of the night and you hear a window break. Your guns on the other side of the house in the safe in your garage. If that reality sounds scary to you is articles for you.

As a responsible gun owner, it is important to not only keep your firearms secure but also easily accessible in case of an emergency. Staging firearms in your home can be a great solution to ensure the safety of your family while also allowing you to quickly access your firearms when needed.

First and foremost, it is important to consider the safety of your family and visitors to your home. Keep your firearms locked up when not in use. Always use a secure gun safe or lockbox to store your firearms. This will prevent unauthorized access and ensure that your firearms are not accidentally discharged by an unauthorized user. I like to say, never underestimate a child's curiosity, how deep the struggles of a friend or family member may be, or the intentions of a service provider you have invited into your home.

When it comes to staging firearms for easy access, you need to consider the most likely scenarios where you may need to access your firearms quickly. For example, if you hear someone breaking into your home in the middle of the night, you want to be able to access your firearm quickly and easily from your bed. For me, I spend most of my time at my home office during the day so for my personal lifestyle, I have another Firearm staged on my bookshelf.

One option is to keep a firearm in a secure but easily accessible location such as a biometric lockbox or quick access safe. These types of safes can be opened quickly with a fingerprint or keycode, allowing you to access your firearm in seconds. The option I went with by my bookshelf, near my work desk was the Quick Access Thumbprint Pistol Safe by RPNB the model number is RP2002. It is fairly affordable at under $150, and they have other options for much less, but I went with this one to be able to have a little bit of extra room for some other personal items that I might want to keep safe in my home. The safe itself is drilled into my Hardwood desk top. So while it might look like you could pick up this safe and run. It would be very hard to do so with a large Hardwood work desk.

The second firearm I have staged in my home is the one is the one I have next to my bedside table. The option I went with for the safe is also by RPNB, which is the home use Slim Design Handgun Safe With Digital Keypad model number RP19003. which is also under $100. This is a very versatile model as it is also the one I take with me when I travel and fly, and I also recommend it for vehicles as it easily attaches to the underneath of your seat.

The two safe options mentioned above are great for affordable, easy-access safes. Of course, it's great to have something that is heavier-duty, especially for your larger firearms that last through fires, natural disasters, serious break-ins, etc. However, with the price of safes and such and home ownership status, I understand that this just isn't doable for most people. If this is something you are in the market for, I recommend Secure It.

It is important to remember that staging firearms in your home is not a substitute for proper training and preparation. Make sure that you and your family members are trained in firearm safety and that you have a clear plan for how to respond to an emergency situation. Staging firearms in your home can be a great solution for both safety and easy access. By keeping your firearms secure but accessible, you can ensure the safety of your family while also being prepared to respond to an emergency situation.
